The popular footwear company Adidas has been around since 1949, when shoemaker Adolf Dassler, first registered the fledgling company. Adolf and his brother Rudi, who went on to form Puma, had been producing sports shoes since 1924. From even before it was officially Adidas, the company has been synonymous with high-quality sports footwear.

Though originally the name came from Adolf’s nickname “Adi” coupled with the first three letters of his last name, Adidas has become an acronym for “All Day I Dream About Sports”.

Very well known for their line of soccer shoes, Adidas has served as the choice for top players such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. As well as providing excellent soccer footwear, Adidas has in fact placed a large focus on the overall kit of equipment needed for the sport, including boots, team kits and warm-up suits. Their line of soccer materials are in fact used by many professional international teams.

As well as producing soccer shoes, the company makes footwear for basketball, football, tennis, rugby, baseball, lacrosse, golf, running and training. They also produce sandals, socks, eyewear and watches, all with a simple yet practical sports theme. The company is well known for producing outstanding athletic footwear, though nowadays their signature three stripes are seen on pants, shirts, hats, bags and equipment, as well as shoes.

Currently Adidas uses the slogan “Impossilbe is Nothing”, and they have proven this throughout the years by producing better and more popular shoes and athletic and casual items that impossibly enough have satisfied athletes and sports enthusiasts well, and they show no sign of stopping!
